Clear+Brilliant
Clear+Brilliant is a non-invasive laser treatment which creates hundreds of thousands of microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin, which replaces damaged skin with healthy tissue and yields younger-looking skin. The treatment starts with the application of numbing cream to help with comfort. The treatment itself takes about 45 minutes, leaving the skin with minimal redness (like a sunburn) which lasts about 24 hours. Most patients benefit from regular treatments about every 4-6 weeks. Following about a week after treatment, your skin will feel softer and look brighter. This treatment can be tailored to patients of all ages and skin types.
Despite being a non-invasive procedure, Clear+Brilliant is not without its share of risks.
These risks include the following:
- Potential risk of burns
- Potential eye injuries
- Bruising
- Changes in your skin’s pigmentation
- Skin sensitivity
- Redness and swelling
It is always a good idea to consider the risks as well as the benefits. If you are not comfortable with the above risks, there are alternatives at your disposal.

Microneedling
We understand that some people may not be too comfortable with needles. That is why we will briefly explain how the procedure works so you know what to expect when you come in for your appointment.
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure where small needles are injected into your facial areas. These needles create micro-injuries in the skin, which will trigger your body to produce more collagen and elastin in the area.
Our microneedling devices provide a superior solution to decrease wrinkles, improve skin texture and acne scarring, and reduce skin irregularities – all in one session. However, it is important to understand that microneedling may not be right for you.
You may not be a suitable candidate for microneedling if you meet any of the following criteria:
- You have active acne
- You have an uncontrolled skin condition, such as eczema
- You have an active skin infection
- You have keloid scarring
- You have an open wound on your face
- You have a blood clotting disorder
- You have an active case of herpes
- You have tanned skin
- You have a history of skin cancer
- You are undergoing radiation therapy
- You are currently pregnant
- You have unrealistic expectations regarding the procedure
Dr. Somenek or Dr. Pittman will assess your medical history to determine if microneedling is right for you.
