Ariel (Patient Care Coordinator) prides herself in providing personalized assistance to our patients. She is passionate about helping patients accomplish their aesthetic goals and grow their confidence. She gained extensive experience in customer service while working in healthcare as a Diagnostic Technician and laboratory manager in Massachusetts. She is currently working toward a degree in Public Relations with an emphasis on Healthcare Communications. She is committed to patient care and will assist every step of the way in the planning of your procedure, in an effort to make the process as comfortable and seamless as possible.
Gillian (Patient Concierge / Lead Front Office Coordinator) graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and a concentration in Systems Management. With over 5 years of customer service experience, she strives to deliver the best care to all our patients. Gillian is currently working on continuing her education in healthcare and furthering her passion in health and beauty. Gillian works to build a strong relationship with patients while delivering exceptional care.
Kaitlin (Clinical Nurse Specialist) graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She started her nursing career in New York City, working in post operative departments at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and NYP Weill Cornell. With over 7 years of critical care and concierge nursing experience, she prides herself on providing thorough patient education and personalized care to each patient throughout their surgical journey.
Claudia (MedSpa Manager) recently graduated from Aveda Institute of Ballston in Aesthetics. Before joining Somenek+PittmanMD, she trained in Aesthetics and has over 10 years of experience in healthcare. Passionate about her ability to help others, Claudia enjoys meeting and talking to new people and providing them with the information needed to keep up with life’s changes. She is excited to be surrounded by the beauty industry as she works towards her goal to become a Master Medical Aesthetician.
Karla (Research Coordinator/ Front Office Coordinator) completed her undergraduate studies in broadcast journalism and French at the University of Missouri. She has also completed a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Georgetown University. Karla has a passion for patient centered healthcare and is currently working toward her dream of becoming a physician.
Sara (Aesthetic Injector) is a board-certified physician assistant. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her masters degree from Arcadia University. During PA school, she fell in love with the east coast and relocated to the DMV after graduation. Sara is well known for utilizing facial mapping techniques to produce natural, rejuvenated appearances for her patients and believes that patient education is the most important aspect of all injectables.
Megan (Master Medical Esthetician) joins our practice having graduated from the Aveda Institute of Maryland in Aesthetics and Towson University with a degree in Mass Communications. Working with patients in both clinical and MedSpa settings, Megan is passionate about providing an outstanding patient experience, along with personalized skin care treatments and solutions.
Quinn (OR Clinical Director) started her career as a RN at Georgetown University Hospital. Having worked in the post anesthesia and intermediate care unit’s for 6 years, Quinn became an expert in peri-operative patient care. Working with the S + P team, Quinn is dedicated to delivering an outstanding patient experience. She is also responsible for the daily administrative operation of the Surgical Suite.
Julie (OR / Recovery Nurse) is a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Suite. Her role allows for one on one nursing care with each patient, both a unique and rewarding experience. Julie graduated from The George Washington University with a degree in Exercise Science & Public Health, and Simmons College with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She has five years past experience as an RN in the Recovery Room and ICU settings at Georgetown University Hospital.
Alexa (Lymphatic Massage Specialist / Licensed Massage Therapist) spent 7 years mastering Trigger Point Therapy and 8 years learning physical therapy assistant techniques in Clinical Sports Massage Therapy. She focuses on a wide variety of modalities including Neuromuscular Therapy, Orthopedic and Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, AIS Stretching, and Pre Natal Massage. She completed her certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage May 2016.
Alexa’s clients have included Sports professionals, amateur athletes, and many clients with recent injuries or those presenting with chronic soft tissue injuries from all ages groups. She has studied with some of the most advanced instructors in massage, sports injury and rehabilitation, stretching, and exercise specialists in the country. She places high value on continuing education and is always researching the latest techniques and theories.
