Women LOVE their earrings! I see women all the time wearing elaborate earrings and I can’t help but notice sometimes how much it weighs down the earlobes. The pull of gravity over the years of wearing trendy statement earrings can stretch out earlobes, making them look old and deflated. For some of my patients, women miss wearing the earrings they’ve purchased or received as mementos or gifts because they have become self-conscious of their saggy, long earlobes. The main issue is that the skin envelope loses volume over time(like everything else around our face). This is unfortunately compounded by the fact that earrings are stretching and expanding something that has become very thin and deflated. This not only accentuates the volume loss but makes it difficult to wear those shiny, flashy earrings when you are highlighting an earlobe that doesn’t fit the rest of you! Something that I have been offering in my practice to these women is dermal filler injections. This works because:

This is always temporary and settles down to a refreshed and youthful earlobe. The filler itself will last around 9-12 months. I allow my patients to wear their earrings right after the procedure if they so desire but most women will wait till the next day.
