Introduction to BodyTite

The brand new InMode BodyTite system for scarless body contouring is now available. This has been shown to be an effective way to tighten the skin without surgical incisions, painful recovery, or extended downtime. The procedure is combined with power-assisted liposuction to remove unwanted underlying fat from the same area.

What Is BodyTite?

BodyTite relies on RFAL, short for Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis, which uses a thermal energy field to induce skin tightening. A cannula is inserted beneath the skin, and an electrode is placed on the skin’s surface. An electrical current flows from the tip of the cannula to the electrode, creating a contained thermal field with 100 percent energy concentration to maximize skin contraction and fat coagulation. 

Treatment is safe and controlled, and the device can automatically adjust the temperature as needed, producing uniform heating of the various skin layers. Heating the papillary dermis and fibrous septa surrounding the fat clusters to 70 degrees Celsius causes the collagen to contract significantly, resulting in the desired tight skin. BodyTite + Power-Assisted Liposuction

With age, we lose elasticity and skin tone. If you aren’t quite ready to go under the knife or want to avoid general anesthesia, a local BodyTite procedure is an excellent option. What to Expect on the Day of BodyTite Surgery

BodyTite involves a specialized treatment process that differs from that of other radiofrequency devices. In this case, RF energy travels between an outer probe and an inner cannula, enabling highly controlled and precision-oriented thermal heating that results in tighter skin and reduced fat content.

During a BodyTite session, Dr. Pittman can continuously monitor the device’s inner and outer temperatures to minimize side effects and discomfort. Although tiny incisions are made to insert the cannula, BodyTite is considered a minimally invasive procedure and does not require the lengthy downtime associated with plastic surgery. It can be performed independently or in conjunction with power-assisted liposuction to achieve optimal results.

BodyTite only requires local anesthesia. However, Dr. Pittman may opt to use IV sedation as needed. After making a small incision, he will insert the internal probe with the second probe stationed at the skin’s surface. Bipolar RF energy flows freely between the probes, stimulating collagen production and resulting in tighter, more youthful-looking contours over time.

Body Tite Recovery

BodyTite is a minimally invasive procedure that uses only small skin punctures to apply heating energy. The patient can expect to experience tenderness and swelling for approximately 10 days, and some bruising is also expected. Most patients are usually back to work within 5 days. Please note that strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided for at least one month following your BodyTite session. You will likely need to wear a compression garment under your clothes for around 6 weeks to help minimize swelling and promote lasting body contouring results.
