Case Details

Procedure: Rhinoplasty

Description: Patient came for consultation with Dr. Somenek because she had a large dorsal hump and a drooping tip. In addition, she had considerable nasal obstruction that was affecting her ability to breathe when she exercised. Dr. Somenek performed a septoplasty to straighten the nasal septum, thus improving her ability to breathe through the nose. Cartilage grafts(alar rim grafts) were placed along the nostril margin to prevent them from collapsing during inspiration. This opened up her airway and alleviated any nasal obstruction that she had in the past. Her cosmetic concerns were also addressed which included removing the dorsal hump with an osteotome and refining her nasal tip.

Individual results may vary.
